As a cycling club, the passion for the ride is what brings us together. As a community, we value safety on our rides, and encourage riders to continually improve their skills and knowledge to help them stay safe. Our coaching partner Onebody runs group sessions for all levels and abilities so members can enjoy their rides more, no matter what their goals.
To help members and visitors understand how to ride in a bunch situation, Smart Cyclist has produced a fantastic guide with pictures to explain some of the concepts like holding your line or rolling turns. We also have opportunities for adults and kids to develop and practice these skills with experienced ride leaders with a focus on fun!
Saturday Morning Rides
NWSCC holds open social rides starting and finishing at the The Local Shed Cafe Rouse Hill every Saturday morning. We cater for all levels of riding from Novice to Advanced. These rides are open to all comers so you don’t have to be a member to join us for a ride. Pelotons are limited to 10-12 riders with each group having an experienced Ride Lead. These rides are ”No-Drop” rides so you will not be left behind. Join us and get the weekend started in the best possible way!
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to ride start times.
Sunday Morning Rides
Sunday rides vary in location, distance and difficulty and can be viewed on our members-only Facebook page and Strava Club page. These include the Sunday Cruise, RAAF rides and Gorges rides, as well as MTB rides.
There are many official and unofficial club rides held during the week and are generally posted on our members-only Facebook page and Strava Club page.
The most attended mid-week rides are:
- Mug Run - 5:00am Wednesday morning starting at Rouse Hill Town Centre.
- Turfies – 5:30am Friday morning starting at Rouse Hill Town Centre.
- Bubbler Run - Bella Vista bollards at 6:30pm during the winter
Ladies Get-Together Ride
There is a Ladies Ride held at Parramatta Park on the last Sunday morning of the month. You do not need to be a member to join us for a casual morning on the bike. You can ride for as little or as much as you like before regrouping for a coffee and cake and of course a chat.
Cycling the M7
You will regularly see riders in our club kit on the M7. Feel free to say “Hi” and ask about the club. Any of our members would be happy to share their experiences with the club with you.
