The club has an active group of competitive cyclists who can be spotted in events across Sydney in our readily identifiable orange, charcoal and green kit. Club members regularly train and race together, with support from club coaches and mentors, and other enthusiastic and dedicated club members.
As our racing membership builds we look to be represented at major races on the CNSW racing calendar across all grades, and welcome both new and seasoned racers to join our 'Orange Armada'.
Training and Development
Riders of all levels find our faster social rides a great way to build fitness, but we do stress these are social rides, not races, even if most will sprint for the coffee shop podium. Our club coach Onebody runs regular training for Juniors. We also sttend sessions every Tuesday and Thursday at Parramatta Park with the 6:15am Training Bunch. These are for all levels of rider, and focus on various areas throughout the year.
NWSCC is pleased to partner with Onebody to deliver a regular program of skills development courses exclusively for club members. Suitable for all skill levels from our recreational and social riders through to our elite racing cyclists, the courses cover skills such as group riding, descending, climbing and sprinting. These courses, normally valued at $350 a session, are free to members of the Club.
Track and MTB
There’s a small, but growing, group of trackies and dirt riders who train and race at the Dunc Grey Velodrome and various trails. We are looking forward to seeing more compete and get involved soon!
